Entry Description

Agora Modiano is an architectural monument that was originally designed by Eli Modiano. It is a historic building of the 20’s central to the architectural fabric of Thessaloniki that has been brought back to life after lying dormant for 20 years. The main concern was to respect the character of the building as unchanged as possible. The lighting design of Agora Modiano, a monument that is inextricably linked with the concept of time, follows the principles of lighting Monuments and Historic Buildings. The lighting of the two façades was a project that required great care in order to keep its originality and the character of the building and to achieve an aesthetic lighting at night. The permeability and extroverted nature of the building are 2 very important elements we wanted to emphasize through lighting and this was enhanced by the lighting of the facade glazing.
Lastly, we wanted a lighting that would bring the whole neighborhood to life, bringing it back to another era that would make it commercial and creative in the mornings, safe and romantic in the evenings.
