Entry Description

The new London headquarters of Vedanta required an ambitious lighting solution that would showcase the chameleon-like design features of the innovative executive space.

The clever interplay between low- and high-level lighting creates a dynamic environment throughout the office. Linear uplights behind banquette seating illuminate the walls and window reveals, and tiny, floor-recessed uplights create a radiant effect.

An eye-catching feature is a monolithic door in the reception that’s framed with light. The sliding portal opens to a “hall of mirrors” where there is a series of bespoke oculus "moon" luminaires recessed in the sweeping 3-dimensional Corian ceiling. They project pools of light that replicate shafts of daylight and have a multitude of colour changing effects.

The lighting throughout plays a crucial role in the emotional state of visitors, as algorithms and motion sensors allow light to track users' movements, providing a type of ethereal companion.
