Entry DescriptionThe received brief was to redesign the lighting systems of the “Matta room”, a 120ft x 50ft space of the National fine art museum dedicated to temporary art exhibitions. Our key concept was to change the colour of the ceilings which were black, to improve the volume of the room. This strategy allows to use the ceilings as secondary reflectors, resulting in a better environment for contemporary art exhibitions. A metallic grid receive energized tracks that allowing installation of the mobile museography lighting equipment, and from which indirect service lighting towards the ceiling are located. This indirect lighting effect can also be used for exhibitions generating a general diffuse indirect light component. The lighting of the exhibited objects is carried out, with fixtures installed on the tracks, with adjustable photometry as: elliptical zoom, spot/flood zoom, spot and narrow spot, CRI of 92, 3000K colour temperature and on-board dimmer was specified. The service and ambient indirect lighting equipment are 3000K and are DALI controlled. Lighting is operated by a control system from a tablet, energized tracks are phase controlled and indirect lighting are DALI controlled.
