Entry Description

The 18,000 SF government conference center project, installed in a DC office building basement space, (formerly used as a cafeteria) consists of a large multipurpose auditorium and several smaller meeting rooms plus reception, circulation, breakout areas, and support spaces. Digitally addressable LED sources used throughout the project with 90+CRI provides the users maximal flexibility of control for expansion and modification of use over time. Vertical surfaces that include identifying graphics are washed with the use of recessed downlights throughout circulation and lounge areas. Perforated ceilings glow with the use of concealed asymmetric indirect illumination of whitewashed shallow cavity surfaces netting an elegant modern expression of ornamentation throughout.
