Entry Description

In 2016 we partnered with experience design agency Event to design lighting solutions for the fantastical new H.C Andersen Museum. From concept design to site commissioning we delivered the client brief: an “Andersenian Universe”.
Our lightscape delivers mood lighting, theatrical & dynamic lighting, state of the art objects & graphic content lighting plus wayfinding lighting while expressing a connection with the garden exterior realm and stories interior realm. The systems toolkit designed for this is fully synchronised with the A/V.
Responding to the architecture bespoke curved tracks suspend from the ceiling for high level lighting. In the Fairytale Realm these follow the form of tree top canopies allowing specific lighting to each zone housing wireless dmx colour change fittings + specialist beamshapers with gobos for textural layers. Micro spotlights & linear profiles are built into the scenography to realise the narrative mis en scenes. A theatrical pre-wired grid system for lighting, suspended elements and projection in The Stage area allows flexible rigging as required. Object lighting has flexible controls, activating only on presence detection for strict conservation.
