Entry Description

Odessa is an exclusive private club located in the district of Polanco, a centric area in Mexico City. The interior design was led by Fernando Sordo and Fernanda PatiƱo from Sordo Madaleno Arquitectos, who materialized an organic and winding inverted topography, to create an elegant and warm atmosphere. The appropriate lighting design was crucial to reinforce the clients and architects vision. To emphazise the layered cavelike nature of the material, discontinue horizontal linear indirect coves were proposed until the upper dome that is located on top of the dancefloor. This has a warmer finish and therefore the light washes softly the surface to close the experience off. At some areas, where some 'rays of light' appear to enter the dim space, a group of miniature low glare downlights, randomly illuminate tabletops. The the bar an its counterbar stand out through softly upward illuminating led panels warmly highlight the bottles. At last and once the music gets louder, the light show transforms the space into a energetic lounge and dance club, where the guests enjoy another evening in this unique and original space.
