Entry Description

WinBar is a chamber restaurant in the old building of the historical center of Kiev. Low vaulted ceilings and non-plastered brickwork are emphasized by sliding light coming from special niches in the floor along the walls. It is a media backlight which means it is formed from individual pixels 4 cm long each. The programs were carefully developed for them: in the afternoon, the backlight is monochrome and static, with a well-balanced spectrum according to the time of day, and in the evening at a more active rest time, the backlight changes with dynamic color spots.
Since the theme of the restaurant is wine, glass and leather craft lamps in the form of decanters were specially designed and created to make their light accentuate the tables.
A distinctive element of the decor is a technogenic black vine made from recycled materials. Illuminated by inward-facing lamps, it provides interesting shadows that break through the vine and make the relief of the brickwork even more complicated.
