Entry DescriptionFrom creating pockets of interest and setting the right scene for a meeting to picking up textures, working harmoniously with interactive elements, and adding drama, the lighting design is key to the Experience Centre’s identity.
LinkedIn’s new hub, where people can connect, innovate and collaborate, is bursting with character across three areas: The Arcade, The Theatre and The Executive Briefing Centre.
The Arcade is a lively ‘street’ with meeting spots, lush planting, and playful design elements. Lighting accentuates artwork, exposed brickwork, greenery, and the bold exterior of The Theatre. A perforated raft ceiling features lighting details that add drama and ambient illumination, while decorative lamps, paired with joinery lighting, create intrigue.
Elevated by the lighting design, The Theatre becomes the beating heart. A striking in-ground line of light wraps around the curved, coral structure’s base and is complemented by high-level, curved track lighting for an eye-catching view from outside.
In The Executive Briefing Centre, the lighting reflects a shift in character to a chic, residential-style space. Cove lighting washes the timber verticals, adding depth and warmth, while pendants above soft seating create intimacy. Meeting rooms feature tuneable white technology and high colour rendering, creating ideal conditions that users can tailor via a control system.
Sustainability ApproachLED fixtures alone are no longer enough as a standard for sustainable practice. The lighting design therefore incorporated additional sustainability measures, including specifying raw aluminium finishes on the iGuzzini track-mounted luminaires and selecting suppliers who incorporate recycled materials into their ranges – such as Stoane Lighting and Optelma Lighting. To further support sustainable practice, all architectural lighting fixtures specified were internally reviewed and selected using TM66 Specify criteria, with a focus on selecting UK and EU manufactured products.
