Entry Description

Glow Story is an interactive storytelling lamp designed to help parents transform nightly story time into a shared creative routine. By simply turning a knob, families change the lamp’s color to match the scene, mood, or setting of their story—whether that’s a deep ocean blue, a warm dragon’s breath red, or a gentle forest green.
This playful control encourages children to choose colors based on emotion and imagination, keeping them engaged while nurturing language and narrative skills. Rooted in developmental psychology, Glow Story supports parents’ desire to build literacy and connection, addressing the challenge that many children lose focus during reading.
Designed for both kids and parents, Glow Story makes storytelling interactive, immersive, and magical—turning every bedtime story into a colorful journey shared together.
Sustainability Approach

In all honesty this project's main goal was to create a purposeful lighting solution not sustainability, but it was kept in the forefront of my mind throughout the process. The main way sustainability is incorporated into my project is with energy efficiency. Glow Story uses LED lighting which is more sustainable than other light sources. If this product went to manufacturing the plastic of the base would be made out of recyclable plastics or non petroleum based plastics.
