University / School Name Georgia Tech
Lead Designers Lauren Johnson
Professor Names Thomas Clifton
Completion Date April 19, 2025
Entry Description

Lulla is a softly glowing amber lamp that projects leaping sheep across the shade, promoting muscle relaxation and healthy sleep habits in young children. An LED rod emits a soft, warm orange light in the center of a cotton and mylar lamp shade, adorned with leaping lambs in a sequence. The shade is attached to the motor with a custom height extension, creating a soft, slow spin that provides a cozy movement of the light without being too visually stimulating.
Sustainability Approach

The base of Lulla is detachable, allowing the LED rod to change to any desired color by adapting the code. Additionally, the lamp shade is detachable, encouraging the swapping out or replacement of individual pieces as necessary. The motor and LEDs can also run off a 5-watt battery that can be recharged outside the lamp.
