Entry DescriptionInspired by the delicate metamorphosis of a butterfly, this bedside lamp transforms soft illumination into a poetic and calming experience. Its sculptural wings, made of resin, gradually open to emit a warm, breathing light designed to create a sense of peace and relaxation.Based on my experience of life in the Netherlands, where overcast skies and limited morning sunlight can make waking up difficult, the lamp integrates circadian lighting principles to support the body’s natural rhythm. Simulating sunrise and gentle transitions of light, it provides a healthier, more natural start to the day, particularly for windowless or low-light environments. The minimalist base features a subtle digital clock, while smart app controls and low-energy LED technology enhance both convenience and sustainability. With a timeless aesthetic and modular design for easy maintenance, this lamp blends artistry and functionality to enrich everyday living spaces.
Sustainability ApproachThe design prioritizes sustainability through energy-efficient LED technology, modular construction for easy repair and recycling, and durable, recyclable materials like resin, aluminum, and glass. A timeless aesthetic encourages long-term use, while minimal recycled packaging further reduces environmental impact.
