Entry DescriptionWe present to you the lighting project of the private Guliver School in Banská Štiavnica. It is a bold initiative by the architect and private investor to create a high-quality, modern, and inspiring space. The project places great emphasis on the design and coordination of the lighting with the overall interior. The custom-made lighting concept is based on acoustic panels. This concept runs throughout the entire space, with surfaces changing to exposed concrete and perforated metal. The lighting is an integral part of the building's mass. Clasroom lighting also serves as nighttime lighting, highlighting the building's form as a whole, and with the use of special shading techniques, it creates a suitable visual effect.
The project also includes lighting for the gym, maintaining the same line of luminaires as the swimming pool. The outdoor area is complemented by lighting for the multifunctional sports field, parking lot, and surroundings. From the perspective of lighting, both the exterior and interior can be perceived without being intrusive. This allows students to focus more on the educational process.
Sustainability ApproachIn the project, we used LED technology with regard to minimizing the carbon footprint. Emphasis was placed on uniform design and the use of the same type of lighting in most spaces. For the client, this means simplified maintenance costs, as the entire area utilizes a unified concept of linear luminaires in various variations.
