Entry DescriptionCity Palace, is a palace complex in Jaipur, the capital of the Rajasthan state, India. The palace complex incorporates an impressive and vast array of courtyards, gardens and buildings, built between 1729 and 1732.
The MSMS II Trust, the caretaker of this Heritage Palace, wanted to create a “stirring nighttime exhibit†of their property. They wanted this Palace to stand out as a “Glowing Jewel†in a city dotted with heritage forts, palaces, Mughal and Rajput Havelis (mansions) and becoming a pioneer for Night Tourism.
The trust hired Design Matrix for Lighting consultancy for this in early 2014. One of our early tasks was creating of site drawings, both architectural and electrical, as none existed. City Palace is a living fort and location and tracing of services, which have seen decades of unplanned or un documented changes was an arduous and time consuming task.
