Completion Date April, 2017
Project Location Tokyo, Japan
Entry Description

FENDI flagship store in world-class retail destination Ginza Six offers a projection of Rome light through the eyes of the Italian luxury house merging the city’s architecture with Tokyo light-scape. The reinterpretation of the architect Gwenael Nicolas, founder of Curiosity, combines the Roman “Colosseo Quadrato” with the Japanese tradition of Noren. The lighting project for the impressive glass façade, with white light graphically contours the iconic arcades of Palazzo della Civiltà Italiana, a 1930s architectural masterpiece which has been the set of La Dolce Vita movie and that now hosts FENDI headquarters. The bright outdoor architectural effect is balanced by warm and cozier lights of the interiors. At night, the building glows like a scenographic lantern. Through the arches, viewers can dip into the heritage and luxury world of the Roman Maison.
