Entry DescriptionThe project’s design concept is inspired by the mimicry of nature to shape the exterior lighting of the company’s headquarters. In this sense, the colors of subterranean waters found in cenotes served as the main reference, achieved through special underwater luminaires equipped with filters that create subtle variations of blue, green, and amber tones. The machine room, located four meters below ground and featuring viewing panels into the pools, houses all the essential operating equipment and was illuminated with red LED neon.
The use of red carries a poetic dimension: it represents the heart of the project, safeguarding the natural pool systems, which embody the company’s “solution.” From a technical standpoint, red light reduces glare, preserves visitors’ night vision, and eases the transition to darker environments. Aesthetically, it creates a striking contrast with the blue water without impairing visibility, ensuring an immersive visual experience.
Along the exterior pathways, anti-glare fixtures were discreetly integrated into the architecture, offering both safety and comfort. In the wooded areas, luminaires were designed to cast shadow patterns across the lawn, evoking a playful, organic atmosphere. Finally, throughout the landscaping, the lighting was designed to emphasize the vertical elegance of the palms and highlight the textures of the ground coverings
Sustainability ApproachAll of the luminaires used in the project are low-power fixtures that deliver a high light output when compared in terms of efficiency to other similar products. Another reason we chose low-power luminaires with a warm white color temperature was to minimize light pollution as much as possible.
With energy savings in mind, the entire lighting system is automated and programmed to gradually switch off the fixtures between 8:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m., leaving only the pathway lights on throughout the night. These remain illuminated until just before dawn, at which point they, too, are turned off.
