Entry Description

"More Than Light — A Creative System". This modular lighting system is based on an unique way to design lamps and invites users to become co-creators. The frames, made of interlocking wooden rods, form the base for customizable paper panel configurations. Users can choose from multiple colors, panel assembly options, allowing for different shapes and degrees of transparency. Decorative patches in geometric shapes or stencils empower individuals to personalize their lamp — by painting, coloring, or attaching elements — creating a unique design language. The construction is tool-free and designed for easy repair and adaptability. This approach not only encourages creative interaction but also extends the product’s lifecycle through modularity and personal attachment.
Sustainability Approach

Sustainability is embedded in both the material choices and the modular design of this lighting system. The frames are made from untreated beech wood, often sourced from collected or salvaged material, while the paper panels are renewable and recyclable. Salvaging waste wood as material e.g. from discarded Christmas trees is also possible. The construction is entirely glue-free and designed for disassembly, enabling easy repair, replacement, or upgrading of individual parts — extending product life and reducing waste. The customization options foster emotional durability by encouraging personal expression. Additionally, the product ships flat-packed to minimize transport volume and carbon emissions. By supporting low-energy LED bulbs and discouraging over-consumption through modularity and repairability, the system contributes to a more responsible lighting culture.
