Entry DescriptionIn the lighting design for the world tour concert of Taiwan's renowned indigenous singer, Power Station, "Because of Love," we coordinated the lighting with each segment's theme to deeply convey the diversity of love to the audience. Following a dynamic and strongly contrasting opening songs, there is a segments composed of sad love songs. Through different directions of light and shadow, a specially designed giant heart-shaped art installation is illuminated, synchronizing with the music to depict the heartbeat rhythm, allowing the audience to immerse themselves in a poignant and agonizing emotional atmosphere.
The large-scale LED screen serves as the trunk of the entire performance, while the lighting is like branches and leaves, blooming with hopeful flowers, symbolizing infinite hope and renewal for the future. In a scene of a church, the variation of light beams portrays the beams of sunlight pouring through mosaic windows, allowing the audience to feel the steadfast commitment of love and its sacred beauty. In Power Station's most well-known song, "Rainbow," lighting motions are layered with melodies, culminating in the creation of a giant rainbow through magnificent lighting layouts, enabling fans to experience the clarity and acceptance of diversities in love.
Sustainability ApproachIn our lighting design, we are committed to integrating artistic performances with sustainability concepts. To achieve this, we have switched 80% of our lighting equipment to LED fixtures, which not only reduce electricity consumption while providing the same level of brightness but also lower heat emissions. Additionally, we create lighting visualizations by building models in software to simulate the lighting effects , thereby reducing the time and power spent programming with physical fixtures, in turn achieving energy savings and carbon reduction.
Furthermore, we use reusable materials to create heart-shaped art installations, ensuring that stage props don't become single-use consumables. These installations incorporate musical elements, presenting the imagery of trees through songs. Our creative designs showcase efficient use of resources and a dual focus on art and the environment.
