Entry Description

The concept idea of the sturdy restaurant “Meat”, crafted by the 5F Studio, embodies the idea of a forest house in the wild. Our objective was not only to recreate the atmosphere but also to integrate it through lighting. Our lighting design strategy was the interaction between light and shadow, mimicking the natural light filtering through trees. This effect was further enhanced by the use of an amber-coloured LED strip, which simulates the warm glow of a sunset.
A standout feature of the restaurant is the bespoke chandeliers with leather coverings, crafted based on original sketches from designers. These fixtures are pivotal in reinforcing the rugged, lumberjack-inspired theme of the interior. As for the sculpture of the bull, it is also integrated into the overall lighting concept, synchronized with the chandeliers via DALI and DMX systems. All lights are raised up to the ceiling. We focused light accents directly onto the tables, creating intimate spaces for guests. The restaurant's kitchen, as a whole object, is equipped with automated lighting that adjusts brightness according to needs, and different scenes, ensuring comfort for guests and functionality for staff.
The promenade lighting is designed to be responsive, intensifying as guests’ approach, creating a sense of comfort without light pollution. This highlights the human-centric approach in the lighting design.
