Entry DescriptionPyxis is a small and faint constellation in the southern sky. abbreviated from Pyxis Nautica, its name is Latin for a mariner's compass.
The way a compass plays a major role in setting a lost voyager into the right direction, a perfect set of well designed lights, would allow a lost mind to wander back to its own self.
Calm, composed, sheer.
The lights that forms the ambiance around us has a direct impact on the way we perceive a space, how comfortable we feel in it and how soon we connect with it on a deeper personal level.
The collection is designed surrounding various needs of a human mind in multiple environments and how it finds itself functioning differently in different spaces.
Sustainability ApproachBamboo, The "Green gold" of this generation, truly has the potential to turn around the way we live our daily lifestyle. The growth cycle of bamboo is very less compared to other trees used for furniture purposes, which already gives it a win over other materials as a primary choice. While working with bamboo as a material, I was fascinated not just by the strength but by the possibilities and the versatility of the material. With mere bending and joining techniques, it allowed me to work on the designs with almost no glue used in the process. Which was an add on to present this collection as sustainable, eco friendly and strong. With good finish and care, the collection has the capability of lasting for years, and even if one wishes to discard it, there is almost zero harm to the environment, completing the circularity of the material, recycling and its post life carbon footprints.
