Entry DescriptionForte is a living room lamp. She is unique because of its simplicity. Traditional push-buttons give full control of the light ambiance. It aims to be a timeless product, with high durability.
Forte recalls a musical instrument as a central piece of the living space. Marcel Duchamp, Bosendorfer pianos, and a mix of body musical instruments inspired me to design this lamp. Finding the right balance between the body's upper part of the light and the leg's thickness was challenging.
Forte adopts a human scale: 584.2 mm x 797.2 mm x 1426.3 mm. She has extensible legs up to 10mm for pad areas. Her primary material is a deep gray lacquer and glitter paint. The second material is iron dipped in a chromium bath. Push buttons have a 50-millimeter stroke to adjust with precision the power of the lights.
To make it realistic and appealing, I chose to promote it thanks to a 3d render, using Arnold engine and Cinema 4d software.
Sustainability ApproachThe sustainability approach here is quick and effective.
Using well-finished materials such as iron protected by a chromium bath. "Laqué", with a traditionnal deep gray piano paint and cherrywood as the raw material for the inner structure of the body. Because the best way to be sustainable is to use highly qualitative materials that can last in the long run.
So the carbon footprint can be cut down over the time.
