Entry Description"Tides"
is a contemporary lamp made from natural materials, designed to evoke the mystique and freedom of diving in the ocean.
Materials and Structure
The lamp’s design centers around the blue bark, positioned a few centimeters above a reflective gold layer. This creates a captivating play of light and shadow, mimicking sunlight filtering through water.
Design and Symbolism
The spiral theme of "Tides" is reinforced by the round stick, which circles the lamp. The spiral represents the movement of ocean currents and the sense of wonder that comes with exploring the sea. The design invites viewers to imagine themselves underwater, surrounded by the silent, ever-changing ocean.
"Tides" is adjustable and ranges from 70 cm to 2.5 meters in height. The outer circle measures 1 meter in diameter, the inner circle 64 cm.
Sustainability ApproachThe natural materials, especially the bark, were collected with care, ensuring minimal impact on their ecosystems, which reflects the message of the design, aiming to raise awareness about the importance of preserving our oceans. Created from materials collected in Lyon, "Tide's" design emphasizes minimal ecological impact on the ecosystem from which it was taken.
