Entry Description

Enso is a unique lamp, which has both a lighting and decorative function, featuring a combination of design, craftsmanship and technology into a sculptural lamp. An innovative, patented wireless connection and distribution system has been incorporated into the design.
The shape of Enso takes its origin from the ancient art of Japanese calligraphy: it is an allegory of completeness and enlightenment, an imperfectly perfect circle that springs from a gentle, spontaneous movement of the hand. During a period spent in Japan, the designer Enzo Catellani discovered the beauty of these slow, precise movements and trying to give a three-dimensional character to the delicate brushstroke, he achieved his new creation Enso.
Each piece is handcrafted with care, with quality materials and no one Enso is ever the same as another. The metal structure that rests on a brass base is externally covered with an irregular surface, resulting from a peculiar manufacturing process.
The circle, hand-painted in blue, appears infused with ink at its origin and the colour seems to lessens along the way, intentionally interrupting the beginning and end of a cycle to indicate that there are still openings for growth and evolution.
Enso engages the user for its symbolism and sculptural shape, both when lit on and off.

One of the most distinguishing features of Enso is the lighting comfort provided by indirect lighting, that offers a cosy atmosphere.
Enso is able to create a relaxing mood in the room where it is placed, providing soft lighting and performing a highly decorative function.
Enso is sustainable, since it has been designed to last over time, with quality materials complemented by high quality lighting sources with a high luminous efficacy (lm/W).The LED light sources ensure energy savings.
Enso is hand-crafted, avoiding the use of energy-intensive machinery.
The packaging is made with recyclable materials.
