Entry DescriptionLei Light Reflection is a lighting product combined with an aroma diffuser and a mirror. It is an innovative design that utilizes reflected light inside the oval-shaped frame, creating a soft and beautiful light when viewed from any angle. With 3 color types and 4 levels of dimming, the product can fit to a variety of situations at personal, small-scaled spaces from bedrooms to workplace. It can also be used as a hanged lantern.
Each feature’s form and function relates to each other to provide an artistic and emotional scene. The entire design is based on an oval silhouette, including the mirror/light and handle. The handle which connects all parts of the product, apparently seems as if the vertical side is linear, though it actually consists of a subtle curve that could only be crafted by advanced technique. It is a testament to superior craftsmanship, actualizing refined appearance. The relationship between the handle and the mirror/light enhances the nuances of light and form at every angle. The design aesthetic is reminiscent of traditional Japanese lighting or the shape of ancient “andon” lanterns. It could also be described as an embodiment of the well-honed sensibility towards Japan’s delicately transitioning season and the time within it.
Sustainability ApproachThe product consists of a simple, undemanding structure which makes repair and maintenance effortless and user-friendly. In addition, to ensure durability, the aluminum body is coated with elaborate anodized coating, which makes the body resistant to deterioration. The materials are recyclable or possible to be used as other resources, less likely to become waste compared to plastic materials.
Another sustainable point is that the aroma diffuser functions with minimum aroma oil compared to similar products and efficiently diffuses scent to the air. This is realized by the aluminum plate matrix, where the aroma oil spreads over the entire plate surface through capillary action, assisted by heating operation.
