Entry DescriptionMeander is a showstopping 60-metre long linear illumination system that champions a levelled-up approach to design, marrying functionality with striking aesthetics.
Designed to illuminate a vast space while enhancing the visual and architectural appeal, this lighting system was conceived to set a benchmark for large-scale overhead illumination. Meander weaves throughout the space and is not just a lighting hallmark, but a showcase feature.
It’s a continuous lighting system that maintains uniform light distribution - with integrated linear opal luminaire and adjustable spots - without creating shadows or dark spots. The spotlights come in an array of modules, including Single CCT module: Tunable White module Dim to Warm module, Plant Grow module - progressive thinking in technology and design. It has the programmable ability to be moody, with levels dimmed and different scenes set using Bluetooth.
It was designed to make the suspensions seamless, creating an effect that enhances the spatial experience of the environment. With its clean lines and modern aesthetic, Meander serves as both a practical illumination source and a design statement, standing as an exemplar of modern engineering and innovation. A perfect blend of design, technology, and sustainability, and proves what is possible in using architectural lighting design to elevate a space.
Sustainability ApproachBeing footprint-conscious was at the core of the design process. Integrated with Bluetooth smart control system, creates less waste (wireless) and energy use through extending the lifetime of the luminaires. The lighting adjusts to set scenes based on occupancy further reducing energy consumption. The linear and spot fixtures integrated into the system also enjoy a mix of the following highlights: government accreditation for being locally made, recycling lighting waste as part of the luminaire production process (helps in 95% energy saving- consume 5% of original power/electricity that would be used if using prime aluminium), the packaging is fully recycled and recyclable, there are no plastic inserts. In conclusion, it’s smart design – exceptionally considered and minimal.
