Entry Description

Kloboucka lesni, a company engaged in the traditional craft of logging and processing wood, at the same time very progressive and modern. All this was also reflected in the design of their unique headquarters.
The project is structurally and technically exceptional, at the same time also modest. The lighting design adapts to these facts. All constructions and technologies are visible, and the lighting works in the same way. The lighting concept fits into the technical character of the building. Both in the interior and the exterior, the aim is to ensure that the luminaire bodies do not appear aggressive and fit sensitively into the structure of the building. However, hanging acoustic chandeliers in the meeting rooms purposefully act as dominant elements of the space.
Thanks to the large amount of glass surfaces, a big amount of daylight passes into the building. The artificial light complements it. We also focused on the functionality of the entire design. Luminaires do not glare and evenly lit a desired space.
In the exterior, linear fixtures play an important role. The facade lines, where the light source and diffuser are recessed deep in the profile, so the undesired glare effect is minimized, emphasize the building structure. The water surfaces are gently lit by hidden linear light modules and a few elements of greenery are highlighted by reflectors in the adjacent garden.
Sustainability Approach

All luminaires are already naturally used in LED technology, so they are energy-efficient.
The main emphasis was placed on NOT creating light pollution. Especially since we are in an area surrounded by nature and at the foot of the mountains.
A warm colour temperature has been selected and attention was paid also to the strict direction of the light and using technology minimizing the undesired effect of glare – shielding, recessed light sources in the fixture bodies, cove light etc.
Even though there was a decision from the investor not to use smart systems and make it simple and user friendly with just an ON/OFF system, the light in the exterior is not used every day, only in certain important moments and thus the negative effect on wildlife is highly reduced.
