Entry Description

Centered around the theme 'City of Science ยท Light Beyond the Horizon,' and following the logic of life sciences, the event integrates nature, culture, and science through site-specific creations. By embracing the essence of a natural perspective and using art to present science, it invites more of the public to enter Hongqiao Park and experience an artistic journey through science.
Evolution in nature is happening constantly. Within the curatorial logic of life sciences, the installation "Evolution II" expresses the process of biological evolution in a concrete form, echoing the installation "Evolution I." It interprets this evolution through the spiral ascent of DNA, the fundamental unit of genes, and ultimately symbolizes the diversity of life with a depiction of the Big Bang of DNA.
This installation uses the Panorama Tower in Hongqiao Park as its medium, with a lightweight extruded aluminum structure supporting the ascending light of biological DNA. The symbiotic scientific logic re-energizes the Panorama Tower, creating a unique nighttime light art expression in Hongqiao Park. This installation interacts with other art installations, forming a complete scientific loop expressed through the overall artistic installations in Hongqiao Park.
Sustainability Approach

Custom extruded aluminum profiles, steel pipes, steel bars, and silicone tubes are chosen as the materials for this creation. The structure is composed of three main parts: the bottom and middle sections use extruded aluminum profiles combined with LED silicone light strips. The extruded aluminum profiles are shaped into a three-dimensional spiral form through high-precision mechanical bending, and precision connectors are used to link the profiles, ultimately creating a 20-meter-tall, multi-layered double-helix lighting installation.
The top section features spiral steel bars of various shapes, combined with LED light strips(8W/m,RGBW(W=4000K) encased in silicone tubes, forming a unique artistic shape of DNA Big Bang.
Using different lighting colors to represent the diversity of DNA vividly illustrates the symbiotic relationship between science and art.
