Entry Description

The main idea of the project is to integrate technological and industrial production into the architectural design as the facade elements of the building.
Developed within the perspective of smart cities, the ‘urban units’ lighting columns are one of Heper’s very recent products. Designed as different modules, urban units work by putting one on top of another in a flexible way so that they can be adjusted depending on the needs within the framework of a system. The lighting units come together in different functions such as solar panel module, wifi module, camera module, speaker module, interactive display module, radar module, sign module, float light module, an interactive lighting module, and street lamp module as the smart façade elements, in such a way that they bring dynamism to the facade.
These smart lighting units are integrated into the façade of the factory, with the idea of colonnade which is one of the most important elements of classical and modern architecture. The idea of the project is the version of the colonnade culture in the smart era: smart colonnade.
This smart facade, which can work integrated with digital and smart systems, can also communicate with its surroundings with the help of its sensors. For example, the façade will detect the train passing near the building and will be illuminated interactively.
Sustainability Approach

The emerging concept of smart cities aims to comprehensively address cities with integrated systems and benefit everyone from that integration. Independent buildings are also increasingly progressing towards integrating into this comprehensive structure with networks. Several elements make these smart cities smart: Fire safety, green buildings, building management, and air pollution control are just a few of them.
Lighting is also one of the most important parameters that make cities smart. Over three hundred million street lighting fixtures are used worldwide. These elements, which are essential parts of the city like roads and sidewalks, are potential resources for smart cities and can be used in this integration. We believe that lighting elements can serve as interfaces between the building and the urban fabric. The main idea of the Heper Lighting Factory was born from this notion.
