Entry DescriptionClient envisioned the new 10 storey flagship headquarters to be high tech and will consolidate it operations, central kitchens, offices, warehouse, logistics and storage facilities and other food and beverage operations in one location. Founder envisioned the facade lighting to be one that is playful and full of colours, to showcase the vibrant culture of the company.
The lighting concept for the facade was to enhance the juxtaposed aluminium facade panels. The conceal led strip and profile are carefully detailed to achieve bending radius to allow maximum continuous runs.
Balancing the client's love and request for colour, we also carefully selected the various hues, 5-7 colours for everyday illumination as requested. Numerous discussions were to convince the colour not to have saturated colours and yet, to have a lighter hue, and shades and no fast moving animation, so that it can still be tasteful, yet achieving the wishes of the client. Panel positions were also quite random, thus, we have to work towards creating a visual perspective of dynamism without overdoing it.
Sustainability ApproachWe have obtained the Singapore Greenmark Gold Plus, which includes overall savings of 35% from the baseline. As the surrounding is also quite dark, thus, the wattages and output used for the exterior are of low output as it can still be seen quite visibly in the environment. Scene controls were set, so the facade lighting turns off after 10pm.
