Entry Description

The lighting project for Palazzo Tirso Cagliari – MGallery Hotel Collection 5* required a year of planning carried out in close contact with the property as well as the executing company Gruppo Puddu Costruzioni and the Milanese interior design studio Marco Piva. The project involved the monumental facade and interiors of the hotel. The building has a history that begins from the year of its construction, 1926, designed by the Cagliaritan architect Flavio Scano and one of the first examples of neoclassical architecture in reinforced concrete in Sardinia. Over the years it went through various ownerships until it was purchased by the Puddu Costruzioni Group. We gave great importance to the relationship between light and shadow, perfectly balanced in order to create the right contrasts and the correct three-dimensionality of the environments, thus directing the gaze on specific parts of the furniture or on historical elements. The central point of the lighting of both the bar and the restaurant are the custom suspensions, made of solid, calendered and milled aluminum profiles. A separate chapter concerns the lighting of the important fac?ade. Through grazing and accents, the result obtained ensures that the facade becomes a characterizing element of the entire hotel structure, giving greater importance and value to the entire building, being visible even from the marina.
Sustainability Approach

All the lighting fixtures are of the latest generation and their components can be dismantled for maintenance or replacement. The efficiency of each lighting fixture is also guaranteed by the dimming via the control system and the management of different scenes depending on the events.
