Entry DescriptionHyatt Regency in Chicago desired a one-of-a-kind focal point in their ballroom renovation. The open concept ceilings were filled with dated fabric forms & peppered with downlights, causing hot spots, shadows and a dreary ambiance. To restore the open ceiling, the designer suspended 3D hexagon tiles in a strategic, linked pattern, evoking clouds floating though the sky.
The HEX pendant was custom-designed to dramatically highlight the unique ceiling, affixed where 3D panels are absent, providing both general & ambient lighting. The 32” open hexagon employs 30K downlight & RGBWW uplight, utilizing 2 whites, warm & cool, for the greatest color versatility. The ever-changeable color array forms a virtual sky above the clouds, reflecting varying hues off each panel angle, forming a mesmerizing composition of light, shadow and color.
Uniquely, RGBWW not only elevates the space but transforms it into a monetizing platform. The Hyatt Events Team now offers clients a lighting upgrade package. They can create an airy “sky” with cool whites & blues; overlay a corporate event in branded colors; imbue a wedding with subtle pinks & warm whites, switching to a festive color-changing array at dance time. With the ability to offer curated effects and upgrades determined by the programming required, Hyatt is poised to offset RGBWW costs & turn their client’s visions into a stunning reality!
