Entry Description

There are many things that are produced every day and they will be abandoned into the landfills causing waste production such as the towels from hotels. The rate of throwing towels is even higher nowadays due to the COVID-19 pandemic situation as people are more concerned about hygiene issues.

MONO T is a new concrete material created with old towels and cement, recycling the old towels and remake them into new materials can increase their lifespan. Besides only having the traditional colour of grey and white, other colours were made to provide more choices to the customer.

MONO T can be applied to different products and wall light is one of the products that can show the patterns.
Sustainability Approach

For the circular economy, the material is produced with towels that will be thrown from the hotels and the expired cement from the construction work sites. The materials will be processed in the factories for making MONO T. The MONO T wall lights will then be transported back to the hotels for decoration use, selling in gift shops in shopping malls and hotels, and for souvenirs use.

Recycling the non-use towels and cement from the society can reduce the waste disposable rate and to remake them into useful objects.
