Entry Description

Rosetta is a ceiling lamp that draws inspiration from the agave. It combines the texture of its coarse earthenware with a sleek and organic shape to create a composition that is reminiscent of the piñata. The contrast created by the blued steel and raw ceramic finish alludes to the syncretism during Mexico’s 16th century and highlights the roots the long-lasting Mexican tradition, portrayed by the 7 pencas (agave leaves) which represent the seven deadly sins found in the traditional piñata.
