Entry Description

The VRDL range is the first downlight specifically created to maintain an IP66 rating after IK10 and that we have the first 4" "mud-in" vandal resistant downlight with these ratings.

We took a fresh approach to the overall design with a focus on impact and ingress resistance as well as designing for behavioral health (ligature resistance). The range has a patent pending design relating to these aspects.

VRDL was also developed to be attractive to designers in as wide a range of applications as possible. Mud-in versions for discreet, architectural designs and for use in calming behavioral health and confinement spaces. We also have a robust range of trims that can be used to make a statement in tougher environments. Our tag line "Tough. All ways" is very appropriate to this.

This ethos of creating a true vandal resistant down light and making it available to a wide range of applications was also taken into the feature set, specifically the wide range of light outputs up to 4000lm, with Tunable wide, Warm dim, red and amber options to extend VRDL's usefulness through the range of human centric lighting designs.

VRDL is NSF2 listed. Luminaire LED as part of Acuity Brands also complies with ANSI 140/ Product Lifecycle/Review of environmental content, Declare and Energy star (where applicable).

Optimizing pallets to use fewer trucks, we implemented new and better ways to produce and transport our products to reduce emissions and waste. Thoughtful design of our products enables us to use less corrugated cardboard and put more products on a pallet.

Achieving International Standardization Organization (ISO) Certification, we made progress in enhancing our sustainability performance. ISO 14001 is the standard for environmental management that helps facilities improve environmental performance.
