Entry DescriptionThe installation is named microscopic shanshui, in which "microscopic" represents the scale and "shanshui" represents landscape. The ancient literati express their worldview on the bonsai rockery as each breach and leaf conceals a kaleidoscope world. The upper part of the installation is a figurative miniature landscape alluding "Nature", while the lower part is a contemporary mirror image of the landscape in which stainless steel the complex social phenomena around it, implying the part of "Human". The miniature landscape uses multi-layered, streamlined acrylic materials to demonstrate the rolling hills and uses the gradient of ink to express a romantic and boundless feeling of landscape.
The upper part of the mountain has a three-color gradient ranging from yellow-green to green to lake blue, and cooperates with infrared sensors and DMX control systems. While allowing visitors to feel their subtle relationship with nature, this design also pays homage to the green landscape style of the traditional Chinese landscape painting "A Thousand Miles of Rivers and Mountains", which is also a modern continuation of this style. The bottom tray is embedded with a concentric circle device with 3000k warm white light running in reverse to simulate a rippling lake. The bottom mirror amplifies the wonderful effect of light flow and change, making the effect more dynamic.
Sustainability ApproachMicroscopic shanshui adopts recyclable material stainless steel and acrylic slice as the main body, and covers natural plants as decoration, which is the combination of artificial and natural. What it shows is the harmonious coexistence of human and nature. In order to reduce energy consumption, LED lamps with high luminous efficiency are used for lighting. The total power of the installation is less than 2KW. The power density is about 100W/m2.
