Entry Description

The Center for Mental Health Care (CGG) is committed to offering guidance and treatment to adults and children with psychological problems.
With the artwork 'BRST' (stands for ‘barst’, dutch word for ‘crack’) we show the building, which in itself is a sturdy concrete construction, from its vulnerable side. Which emphasizes in order to convey the message that everything and everyone has their cracks.

The fault line is noticeable when you stand in front of the building. As you get closer, you'll see that the lines are planes divided into green triangles. Each triangle represents a person in need. Not one triangle is like another, and therefore has its own story, orientation and reflections on things. Preserving the patient's individuality is a fundamental building block in the psychosocial sector. The defined fault line of the whole gives you a kind of trajectory, with mountains and valleys. And, just like the guidance, it is one with ups and downs.
When sunlight falls on the facade, green colored shadows will fall on the facade. Because every day is never like another, the work of art will always form a different image and therefore remains in motion. Just as healthcare continues to evolve.

The monumental facade sculpture uses green as the main color. Green symbolizes rebirth, new insights, stability, harmony, creative intelligence and represents this as a balanced mind.
Sustainability Approach

Metallizing is a sustainable way to protect steel against corrosion. A zinc-alu layer is applied, which perfectly protects the metal construction.

Powder coating contains no solvents, is a 100% solid. You have less waste and you can recover the overspray. They are environmentally friendly because they contain no solvents and release a negligible amount of VOC to the atmosphere. Once hardened, it emits no VOC. In addition, cured powder coatings have a negligible impact on air quality and have a good effect on LEED score. It also has good UV and weather resistance.

The Greencast® is cast acrylic (plexiglass/pmma) that is made entirely from 100% recycled pre- and post-consumer acrylic with all the excellent properties of standard cast acrylic. Greencast® is the most sustainable and green choice in the acrylic world. The big advantage is that it can be recycled and reused again and again.
