Entry Description
The Retreat is a conceptual assisted living facility that is our future’s definition of a holistic healing space. Modeled through introspective edges and a centralized social hub, the aim of The Retreat is to provide senior citizens with a comfortable, luxurious, and relaxing home to age in peacefully. Inspiration is derived from light and airy aesthetics, materials, and colors which are amplified through more specific means of design such as a generous amount of greenery, light beige and neutral tones, and a maximal amount of daylight. Residents are meant to feel welcomed and mesmerized through these sustainable and contemporary design means.
Sustainability Approach
Sustainability is achieved in this project by implementing a glass perimeter around the building for window and sunlight access, which minimizes electricity use. Interior plants are also implemented focally to implement oxygen circulation and promote a healthy space for aging adults.
