Entry DescriptionThis investment firm’s expansion creates a space that looks like the future. The aim is to attract youthful tech talent who will be excited by the flexible, collaborative environment.
An open ceiling, chosen to maximize the room height, uses an LED pendant system as the primary lighting. Customizable branching arms allowed the creation of dynamic ceiling layouts while providing uniform illumination. The system requires few support points and seems to float in the space. Small accent lights, integrated into the system, provide highlights.
The furniture plan inspired the lighting layout. Overlaying and manipulating the system’s segments achieves an “organized randomness” that suggests an abstract painting.
A power-over-ethernet protocol allows for flexibility at 1’ increments. Fixture output, dimming, and diagnostics can be easily controlled and monitored for energy conservation.
Additional lighting elements provide visual interest. Two rows of high-power LED tape light with grazing optics backlight the black screen wall that greets visitors. A custom LED pendant mirrors the table shape in the main conference room to create a unique gathering space. Decorative wire-form pendants mark counters and tables, contrasting with the branching pendants weaving through the space.
The project captures a futuristic design, while the lighting adds elegance, comfort, and inclusiveness.
