Entry DescriptionParallax is an immersive, site-specific AV art installation that premiered at the Fjord Oslo Light Festival in November 2022.
Parallax is the apparent displacement or distortion of an observed object due to the change in position of the observer. The kilometer long light beams create a dynamic spatial presence over the bridge which can be experienced differently from different positions around Tjuvholmen Fjord and Aker Brygge, encouraging the idea to seek new perspectives.
Although the points of view and interpretations might be unique to each person, their points of experience in time however, are unanimous.
The installation is accompanied by an organic, ambient soundtrack composed such that the long orchestral pad merges with the environmental sounds of Aker Brygge.

Sustainability ApproachWe are a company that believes in making more using less. The installation is founded on the principles of imagining and using energy efficient entertainment fixtures in the context of public art and contribute to the circular economy as recurring use objects thus maximising their use in the entertainment and art industry.
This project uses Ayrton Cobra lighting fixtures with laser phosphor light source and each unit uses a maximum of 480W(on its full maximum usage range) although for this show we only used about 20%-30% of its features in this project.
