Entry DescriptionIt is a first stationary bridge over the river Oka in Nizhny Novgorod. It connects upper and lower parts of the city.
The illumination was installed to mark celebration of 800 years city’s anniversary.
The bridge represents the main part of the embankment promenade.
By taking into account specifics of the construction and fairly close levels of visual impression, we tried to maximise its internal volume and space. By using the colour we split internal and external parts, emphasised all elements of the unique construction, and preserved its gracile silhouette for distant levels of perception.
This photo zone under the arches became new point of attraction of the whole embankment.
To intensify common impression from the lightening the main scenario was synchronised with the music. This way we managed to strengthen the role of the bridge on the embankment, highlighted its uniqueness and, most importantly, increased the amount of tourists, that appreciated the new look of the city’s landmark.
It is worth mentioning that the lighting of the bridge also has a social function: the city’s authorities involve residents to participate in creating new evening images of the bridge.
