Lead Designers Paul Nulty, Daniel Blaker
Completion Date November 2016
Project Location Iceland
Entry Description

The interactive lighting scheme in Iceland’s busiest airport gives travellers a memorable sensory experience, bringing the country’s natural sights and national celebrations under one roof. The key innovation behind the dynamic installation was to recreate the Aurora Borealis; a natural phenomenon living out of the terminal’s occupancy and weather’s activity. The installation bridges human being and nature, recreating the celestial experience within the airport.

The dramatic ceiling light installation provides an ethereal light experience and a nod to the Northern Lights – it’s an interactive mesmerising sequence of colour that covers the main departure and arrival area of the terminal.
