Entry Description

This Craftsman inspired golf clubhouse and country club was a natural canvas for accenting the folds of overlaying surfaces and drawing out its deeply textured inner beauty. The heart of this design was to capture the essence of classic lighting techniques that would express the style, warmth, and scale of the thematic architectural features, while also embracing current LED and modern construction technologies to maximize the budget's value. This project's design 'bill of rights' is rooted in the following truths; color consistency governs, meticulous detailing and proper scale is paramount, and assurance that the decorative and architectural fixtures will be easily maintained and future-proofed for generations to come. This project challenged our sensibilities as lighting designers, not only from just an expression of the architectural vision, but from the responsibility that millions of viewers will experience its beauty through their personal cameras, or through the lens from afar.
