Entry Description

The challenging architecture in a narrow, irregular unit with various ceiling heights and conditions inspired exciting, thoughtful and bespoke lighting solutions throughout. The café doubles as a gallery space, with its unusual proportions the walls command an imposing display area where narrow beam spotlights accent artworks and bespoke transparent glass pendants float above tables. Moving into the foyer, past an interactive coloured shadow installation with luminaires designed specifically for BLOK, we are then struck by the sculptural staircase and block forms. Past this first glimpse of the cold cathode installation with unique gradient of colour temperatures is revealed. Same approach is seen in the studios designed in alignment to their activities: warmer whites for lower intensity classes and cooler for higher. Another bespoke pendant made of an exposed heatsink coupled with high powered LED module for boxing studio, in coherence to the raw yet luxurious design aesthetics.
