Entry Description

One of the lighting features in this apartment in Brooklyn, New York is the pyramid-shape ceiling that has one LED cell at the summit. The one tiny light makes a dark long narrow corridor spiritual, meditational and sacred. It also separates private and public space.
A tiny opening in the shoe closet at the one end of the corridor is reminiscent of Todai-ji temple, Japan. It is believed that good fortune and health are gained by crawling through. Natural light passing through also adds a spiritual feeling.
The one baseboard cover in the living room is installed with a LED light. It works as a cove light as well and gives a glowing light behind a sofa.
The six ceiling down lights give geometric light background behind the shelves of the TV cabinet to emphasize objects in front.
The two light coves at the white washed oak kitchen wall opening emphasize wood grain direction horizontally and vertically giving nice dining background.
The kitchen task lights are minimized not to distract cabinet pure geometry.
Picture frame-like lighting behind the bathroom cabinet mirror creates nice ambient light from all four sides.
The spot light at the bath tub creates a nice beam light through water.
