Entry Description

The internal lighting for the pavilion is based on a few, yet bold lighting strategies. The aim was to avoid adding any lights in the ceiling in order to keep it clean and representative of a smooth and crisp piece of paper. Therefore, projectors were concealed in the columns to illuminate the ceiling, exposing the architecture and revealing the magnificence of the space and notion of the architectural intent which is to depict an organic piece of paper, that can be admired from both inside and outside the building. Furthermore, at the south entrance to the pavilion, parallel linear lines of lights are distributed in a random barcode scheme symbolizing the stamped document agreement. Lastly, a series of bird inspired fixtures float above the mezzanine floor, filling the space with an inspiring visual element representing a flock of birds coming together towards the same objective, adding a tranquil touch to the overall lighting design scheme.
