Received Bachelor of Fine Arts from Tokyo University of the Arts and in 1986 Established Reiko Chikada Lighting Design Inc. after working at Motoko Ishii Lighting Design Inc.

Wide design experiences in city lighting, public facilities, landscapes, museums, hospitals, offices, hotels, commercial buildings, and residences. Professional Member of IALD and was part of the Membership Committee from 2013 to 2015 and also has been part of the Board of Directors from 2016 to 2017.

Awarded from City, People Light Award of third prize for “Kanazawa City Lighting” (2011), IALD Award of merit for “Diana Garden Hiroo” (2007), IALD Special citation for “Tokyo Factory, Retem Corporation” (2007), IES Award of The Edwin F. Guth Memorial Award of Excellence for “Kyushu National Museum“ (2006) and IES Award of The Paul Waterbury Award of Excellence for “The Heart Island Shinden” (2005)
