The bi-annual winner’s event is the highlight of the LIT Design Awards program, a unique opportunity to be recognized, network amongst the best designers of the industry as well meeting jury members and press representatives. Since 2017, we’ve brought LIT Design Awards lighting events to Tokyo, Philadelphia, São Paulo, Budapest, and most recently Athens.
The LIT Lighting Design Awards held a winners ceremony at the LEDforum.22 in São Paulo, Brazil, on August 19th at the Tivoli Mofarrej Conference Hotel
LEDforum is known nationally and internationally for offering lectures and activities of high technology and knowledge level, conducted by great names in the Brazilian and international lighting universe. The event brought together an audience of lighting designers, architects, product designers, urban planners, landscape designers, academics, developers, and providers of lighting solutions, coming from different regions of Brazil and Latin America.
Introducing regional winning projects, Aline Martins dos Anjos from the LIT Lighting Design Awards invited the 2021 winners on stage.
Antonio Carlos Mingrone, Principal of Mingrone Iluminação shared a few words on his winning project the “Financial Institution”; while honorable mentioned recipients included: Carolina Ciola Fonseca from Studio: Studio ió Arquitetura, Marina Makowiecky from Allume, Simone Turíbio from Choque Design, Neide Senzi from Senzi Iluminação, Marina Lodi and Nina Morelli from Auma Studio, received their LIT Awards 2021 certificates.

The international lighting design community celebrated on May 30th, honoring the winners of the LIT Lighting Design Awards at a distinguished awards ceremony.
Professional and emerging Lighting Designers, whose outstanding work has earned them the prestigious Lighting Award, were celebrated at the renowned LIT Lighting Design Awards on Monday, 30th of May at the prestigious Museum of the Acropolis in Athens, Greece.
The new Acropolis lighting, realized by “Eleftheria Deko & Associates”, won the “2021 LIT Lighting Design of the year”, and on this special occasion, the LIT Lighting Design Awards had the illustrious privilege of hosting the Award ceremony at the Museum of the Acropolis to honor the LIT Awards Winners and enjoy the magnificent view of the UNESCO World Heritage site.
The internationally renowned prize is awarded to companies and designers who challenge norms and push boundaries to bring their lighting vision to reality. The ceremony and cocktail reception was attended by over 100 guests from 17 countries, representing the very finest in Lighting Design. Over the course of the evening, the LIT Awards “Design of the Year”, Lifetime Achievement recipients and Spotlight prizes were awarded.

To celebrate the 5 years of the LIT Lighting Design Awards, a curated photo exhibition of the LIT Awards winning designs took place at the “House of Lucie” Athens Gallery on Sunday, 29th of May, 2022.
It was a unique opportunity to see some of the most incredible Lighting Designs and Lighting projects of the last years, network with award-winning Lighting Designers and Lighting Product Designers, as well as meet the LIT organizers and jury members.

On 3rd of October 2019, the Winners of the 2018 LIT Design Awards were announced at the Private Members Club, Brody Studios Budapest, Hungary. Over 120 winners joined the event and ceremony all smiles. After viewing and evaluating so many truly outstanding product designs, the Jury selected FLOS company for the “Arrangement” as Lighting Product Design of the Year, While Licht Kunst Licht AG with Lead designer Martina Weiss received the Lighting Designer of the year for Bike Square, Novartis Campus, Basel. Kevan Shaw, LIT Lifetime Achievement Award Recipient joined the event, receiving his trophy celebrating 40 years of career in the Lighting Industry.
Partnering with the 10th edition of the LEDforum in São Paulo, the 15th of August 2019 the LIT Design Awards presented 10 winning designers with the LIT Winner’s Certificate and two LIT Trophies. Martina Weiss represented Licht Kunst Licht, our Lighting Designer of the Year, in receiving the trophy for Bike Square, Novartis Campus in Basel. And Maria Flavia Portes received the LIT Trophy as well on behalf of FLOS, our Lighting Product Design of the Year for Michael Anastassiades’ design Arrangements.
LIT Winners that received recognition at the LIT Awards Ceremony x LED Forum include: Mark Major accepting on behalf of Speirs + Major for the Gasholders London lighting design; Mariana Novaes accepting on behalf of Atiaîa Lighting Design for Letras HQ; Carlos Fortes representing his firm Estúdio Carlos Fortes for the Sauer Jewelry lighting display; Renata Fongaro on behalf of studio 220v for the LIT winning project Bar dos Arcos; Marina Makowiecky received the LIT Certificate for Allume Arquitetura de Iluminação for CASA 01; Claudia Mingrone accepting on behalf of Mingrone Iluminação for their lighting design in the Localiza Building; Ricardo Fahl with Omega Light accepting the certificate for the PEG product design; and finally, Juan Carlos Fabra received the award for his lighting design of the Hotel Hampton by Hilton located in Montevideo, Uruguay.
