Lisbon Under Stars (LUS) was an immersive and unique spectacle in Carmo Church, Lisbon. A multidisciplinary experience brought together multimedia projections, virtual dancers and visual effects, to the sound of great Portuguese music. Proven to be the ideal stage for LUS, Carmo’s Church provided a new way of experiencing the history of more than 600 years of the city and Portugal. Several Portuguese artists from diverse fields were presented in one coherent work: dancers, singers, urban artists, painters, multimedia artists and other.
The show used several techniques that are used in movie industry, and translated them to the field of video mapping. Visitors were able to be completely inside the story, walk around location and see the show from different angles. They could live the story. The show required a use of 13 projectors, one of the largest shows OCUBO produced, with 30000 tickets sold over 2 months in 2018. The show received award for Best Cultural Event at BEA Awards 2018.
