Entry Description

The II. Bayezid Bath, which is a 16th century Ottoman bath in Istanbul, after the restoration, it’s been turned into a Turkish Bath Culture Museum. During the general renovation, we designed a ligting solution for the bath. The biggest drawbacks and damages in the lighting applications of historical buildings occur during the installation of the devices and the cables that bring them electrical energy. So we produced a solution which will make the least damage in the determination of energy cables and fixtures. Also, lighting elements and fittings should be positioned that they do not prevent natural light, create negative conditions (glare) and images for close-up view and building users. For this purpose, special spot lamps placed in the small skylights (elephant eyes) with custom made mounting brackets, without a luminaire to let the natural light in, and by the magnet feature of the lamp we placed anti-glare lenses in front of the lamps. Electrical cabling is solved on out of roof.
