Completion Date June 2017
Project Location London
Entry Description

This elegant restaurant in London's Fitzrovia district required a lighting design solution that complements Mere’s rich yet contemporary interior, whilst celebrating the owners' South Pacific and French heritage.

The lighting scheme emphasises the contrasting materials and textures of the interior design to create a warm and inviting space for guests. LEDs with a high CRI ensure the artistry of the dishes served can be fully appreciated.

A modern wooden staircase, with rough concrete walls and curved plywood, leads down to the dining room. With a linear fitting in the stair tread accentuating its form and a glow from concealed LEDs grazing the textured walls, the staircase appears to float in the space.

A striking architectural wall feature that doubles up as a decorative light installation, formed by “fins” that are softly illuminated, enhances the dining area’s double-height front. Away from the atrium, the lighting scheme includes coffers that have been illuminated to provide a soft body of light and warmth throughout the space.
