Entry Description

As the existing building has such a strong aesthetic, the design objective was for the lighting to look timeless and part of the original design. PointOfView custom designed all of the lighting elements used in the space in consultation with the key stakeholders and the project Interior Designers. Fundamental to the design of the bespoke lighting solution was understanding the scale, proportion and detailing of the building. Suspended ring elements were introduced to provide rhythm and symmetry to the Main Lobby and adjoining North and South Vestibules, whilst housing the general downlights to accent the marble and granite floors and uplight to the white plasterboard ceiling, creating a sense of volume. A semi-circular cluster of pendants anchors and draws focus to the grand marble concierge desk, whilst clusters of wall lights integrated into the existing façade mullions bring the lighting down to a more human scale in the lounge waiting areas to either side of the main entrance.
